A mixed bag experience but the pots are still sound
The chain on one pot broke, and the water loaded bottoms kept falling off with the slightest bump. That said, they are now ground planters and I absolutely love them.Another tough star choice here.They function wonderfully and the materials are high quality. The color is pleasant on the two tone pieces. The chain however, either arrived compromised on one, or became compromised via hanging. The bottom water catches also dislodge way too easily when full. Knocking one of those off with a slight jostle is about as fun as it sounds. Glad they were on an outdoor deck at the time.Let’s start with the good.The material is rugged, thick and durable. The colors are easy on the eyes with a two tone, earthy sort of look. The green pairs well with a rustic exterior, and the fill catch is small but functions well enough. I think they look better outside in any capacity, but they CAN be mounted inside. Just be aware of what could happen. The watering ropes are cut to fit and they do so well. No extra slack for replacements though; the pre-cut bits are all you get. A small manual is included and will be appreciated by some. The chain.. is good quality which leads me to believe my case was a manufacturing defect; not the norm.Chain questions aside, let’s talk about the one glaring flaw. Each pot is a two piece design. The “wood grain” bottoms basically twist and “lock” up into the green pot bases. The problem is the contour in the track that keeps them there is so small it’s easy to knock right off. Theres also very little length to the mounting track itself. Thus releasing the bottom catch easily and all the water in it.Yeah, that’s a problem.The design could have changed, and the pots work fantastic on the ground. But I had planned on these being hangers as they were advertised. And as they were advertised hanging was a complete mess.Considering the quality of the chain. Considering the quality of the pots? I’m still not disappointed. The quality on offer here is just too high. That’s evident by (my)their switch to ground planters. The materials are just too good to let poor design bring them down.A quirky product, but you won’t regret the purchase.Cheers
