Very strudy
These are solid corner supports. I used the for a shelf on a TV cart that I built. They are holding up a 20″x8″ shelf with a decent amount of weight on it. Nice black finish on it too. I would use thee again for other projects where i have the need…

Fairly sturdy, but weld grind areas and scratches expose bare metal.
These post braces are advertised as heavy duty and they are fairly heavy duty, but they are not SUPER heavy. The width of the metal on the ends is probably about the same width as the hollow metal tube connected to the ends. The package of two post braces came with 17 screws (one extra) and a driver bit that does have a magnet in it, which makes using driver bits oh-so-much-easier.Because all the images in the advertisement appear to be photo-shopped into pictures, I took very careful and close-up pictures of this product. The longest edge to longest edge measurement of the mounting plate is 16.5 inches. The short edges to short edge of the mounting plate is about 11.25 inches.The reason I gave this product four starts instead of five is that every single end had an issue (see images). Three ends had welds that had been ground down but then not repainted, so the raw steel is now exposed to the weather. The fourth end was not ground down and there’s a blob of metal that was painted over. ALL the ends had scratches across the width of the hollow metal support tube, that exposed bare metal. These will need to be painted with primer + paint before mounting to keep them from rusting.

Very sturdy, work great!
Instead of using these for their intended purpose, I ordered them to add support to my custom built L shaped desk, it was a bit wobbly due to there not being any cross bracing, and I was originally planning on using heavy duty shelf brackets, but I saw these and I am glad I went with them, they are heavy duty for this application, and made my desk way more stable, I could see why they were made for pergola.

Pergola corner brackets
I’ve mostly used wood that I’ve cut at 45 degree angles, and usually get the angles slightly off. These are strong and have built in screw holes so they are easy to install. You don’t have to worry about the wood cracking like on my wooden ones. Super easy and look. I e

Disappointed.
Arrived scratched as other reviewers have stated. This is due to the packaging, as there is no packing material between the metal brackets, so they rub together during shipping. The brackets will require repainting before (or after) installation. The metal is also a lighter gauge than I expected – not what I would refer to as “heavy duty.” The hardware is ok, and the included driver bit is a nice touch. But if you are building your own Pergola, I would assume that you have the tools and know-how to do so. At $30.99 for a pair on 9/09/25, you are paying for the look of these brackets. Heavier gauge iron L-brackets are available that will perform the same function at a much lower cost. 3-Stars for falling below my expectations.

Functional Corner Bracket – does the job
Very well build corner brackets – only downside is that the powder coating is inconsistent throughout the bracket and at times could cause rusting unless treated prior to installation. Metal is thick enough to be good for support and the brackets are welded solid so they should hold up where they are attached.

Perfect 5 stars for being exactly as described ane living up to expectations.I don’t have finished photos for you because I haven’t started my bird feeder project yet. The brackets will be used to hold up a cross beam that will house hanging bird feeders under a gazebo to protect the birds this winter.I can however, testify as to their high quality and good looks. The brackets are hefty, perfectly powder coated and straight. No scratches or dings in our set.I wouldn’t hesitate to use these to support 4×4’s carrying heavy loads. Looking forward to putting them to good use.

A nice touch adding to a custom look
Traditionally, for added support to wood structures, most people would cut a smaller block of wood with two 45degree angles and screw it into the corners. This is functional, but not always pretty. These pergola brackets are super easy to use with pre-drilled holes and included hardware. They give the corners of your structure a more professional look and sturdy appearance!
