Sturdy, perfect for pergolas, looks hreat
Easy installation, use clamps to help hold them in place while putting the screws. Will see if they rust, but planning on spraying with wd40 before rainy season.

    Pergola Brackets
These angled pergola brackets are heavyweight and functions exactly as described. They’re perfectly sized for dimensional lumber and easy to install. For the set of 4 it’s a great value for the sturdiness and ease of getting boards up and in place.

Does not provide a flush fit when joining two 4 x 4’s
these are great just keep in mind. They are larger than a 4 x 4 so if you’re looking for a clean fit flush joining of 24 by fours you’ll have about an eighth of an inch of steel hanging over. Also, your 4 x 4 has to be exactly the right size if they’re slightly oversize, they will not fit in

Very strong & Solid! Versatile, Well Engineered, Steel 45 degrees brackets.
I am very pleased with these corner support 45-degrees pergola metal brackets. Quite functional. This set of 4 angled brackets perfectly fits 4”x 4” pressure treated wood, exactly what I need for this project I’m working on. Early on, I found that as long as my posts and rafter beams are exactly “squared” to 90-degrees, I could put one of these 45-degrees brackets onto the end of a 4×4 wood, and draw a line along all 4 sides to help make cutting the angle on the support wood easier (by following the lines drawn). For my project, I installed one angled cross beam 1/4 length along the 4×4 rafter centerline between posts. These brackets makes installation of angled support cross-beams easier, and with a little sanding, gave me a nice tight fit.The package has 4 brackets that are strong, heavy, rigid, thick, and sturdy. They were delivered well packaged in a strong box, each bracket individually wrapped so there were no mars, dents or scratches. Being so well packaged individually in plastic contributes to protecting the coating and the metal bracket for continued durability. The look and finish also matches perfectly with the other anchor brackets I’m using. Pre-drilled holes allow me to use the screws this came with, or to use my own screws. These brackets can be very versatile as to the various lengths of support crossbeams desired. Of course, the length of wood must be cut to keep and maintain the 45-degrees angle for bracket attachment. I guess that depends on the project and the actual height of the vertical posts. For my simple project, it provides excellent support as angled crossbeams, making our walkway shed easier to build, and definitely stronger.I confess that I DID use Pythagorus Theorem to determine the length of wood for the angled cross piece (the hypotenuse or “c”) as the post and rafter is 90-degrees attached, and I used the post length at the point of attachment to be “a” and the rafter point of attachment to be “b”. I did the measurements center to all wood pieces, and “c squared” turned out to be exactly the cut I needed. Modifying “a” or “b” allowed me to see on a scaled drawing exactly how the braces would look, and the maximum height I could install it for most effective load-bearing support.A side “project” I did for fun, and happy it worked! To provide more context on my project and how these brackets are being used, the following is an edited version of another review I wrote and posted. I include this to refer others to those brackets or similar, available for very reasonable prices on Amazon. I benefit in no way for these recommendations!I am building a roof cover over a concrete walkway for about 20 feet alongside the side of the house. The covered area is eight feet wide at about a 45-degree pitch for easy water runoff. I used 4×4 pressure treated wood for the outside supporting posts and used thick, heavy, steel post sleeves made to attach to concrete anchors 2’ wide x 3’ deep (see another review I did for these). The post-top cross-rafters are also 4×4 pressure treated wood and fits perfectly onto brackets (I ordered from Amazon) with side connectors, screwing in solidly and tightly onto anchored posts, allowing for a reliable, stable and strong support. With eleven screw holes for securing 3 out of 4 sides of the rafter, and all 4 sides of the post top, I am confident that the finished structure is durable, well protected from the weather, and is strongly reinforced! I am reinforcing these rafters with 45-degrees angled brackets, 1/4 or so length between posts (this review). The thick, steel, powder coated brackets look solid and professional. It provides a nice ambience to the structure, and gives the impression of having a long life. They match the angled cross-beam brackets quite well. I am also using other support brackets for bracing, and floor anchors.Price wise, they are on par with local hardware stores for galvanized supports, but in my opinion, these solid steel and heavy duty welded and well built steel brackets are very much the better buy. A very nice and useful set of steel brackets that makes these projects easier, more durable, safer and STRONGER.NOTE: I did check with our local County in Florida, and was guided by them regarding requirements, post distances, the maximum covered area I can build without a permit and all that nice hurricane code I have to follow. No problem – better safe than sorry. I recommend everyone check local ordinances before attaching any type of building or structure to your house, and for hurricane strapping codes for isolated sheds etc. It’s well worth it and I learned a LOT from them. There are wonderful people working there! Thanks to all!

    These brackets are so helpful
Great brackets. This is my second go around using them. The first time was for a catio and it worked out great. They were easy to install and they hold the wood in place nicely. No problem having the wood fit in the brackets. Excellent value for the money. Would buy again.

4″ X 4″ metal brackets. Checked out the price in local hardware stores & wasn’t impressed with the price – too expensive. Brought & fitted these & they appear of the same quality & do the job for half the price….

Maybe I got a bad batch, but the measurements are way off. The width and height to the outside are 3 5/8 but not the inside so it doesn’t fit a standard 4×4 – at least not without chiseling away the wood to make it fit. Very annoying as I didn’t test it right away and am now outside return window. Avoid all together and save the trouble.
