Pergola Roof Risers – Works with S-shape roof tiles, not just for comp roofs
So far so good!! I ordered two of these exact same ones to use in the middle sections, spaced 4 feet apart from each other, and 4 feet apart from the 2 end roof risers. So we will have a total of 4 roof risers, but only 2 will be these.Most projects will allow you to use 4 of these same ones for the whole project but we are including 2 end posts that the roof needs to support, and this riser is for beams not posts. We will have a beam, but the ends on either side of the beam are going to be posts.So far we have these 2 in place. Once the project is done, I will post another review.These are sturdy and the fit is solid and all the hardware you need is included. The hardware is very good quality. You will also need to buy the flashing boot of course to protect it from the weather. They are jointed to adapt to the pitch of your roof, making them highly functional.You may notice we are installing on a cement tile roof. Typically you only see these being installed on flat comp roofs. We do not anticipate any problems due to the curvature of the S-shape roof tiles.I think they look good. I’m happy with them so far!

Just what I wanted
Well made, sturdy and lasting finish. Tested them out on some scrap 4×4 wood fit is just fine. No slop. Deep enough to provide solid support and easy assembly. We really like the functionality and the overall appearance. We’re anxiously awaiting our post bases and necessary lumber.

Great quality upgraded model
I use a lot of these DIY brackets, and I often get my 4x4s from Home Depot. They are great for projects, but the problem I always run into is that not all 4x4s are the exact same size. I have had to sand them down to make them fit, and once they are hammered in, taking them apart is a nightmare.This open design solves that issue completely. It lets the bracket flex a little so it can fit different 4×4 sizes, whether they run slightly bigger or smaller. It eliminates the struggle I had before and makes installation super easy.The quality is great, no rust so far, and it feels very sturdy.A simple design change that makes a huge difference.

Heavy Brackets
I’ve looked at fabricating some pergola brackets myself before but decided to give these a shot. They’re much heavier than I expected and are made with a nice, thick walled steel that doesn’t bend or deflect easily. The welds aren’t going to win any beauty prizes, but they look like they got enough penetration and they should hold fine. The finish is really nice and is a black, matte coating that doesn’t scratch easily and should hold up to constant weather exposure. Big box home improvement 4x4s fit well in them, and some timber screws tightened them up and the wood and looked really nice. These are currently offered for $69 for two and I couldn’t make my own with a similar quality finish for anywhere near that, so I’ll be getting more of these to finish my project. Good brackets, good value. No complaints.

Big, Beefy, Good Looking Brackets For Indoor Or Outdoor Projects
Recently stayed at an Airbnb that had a small covered sitting area that was made from pressure treated 4x4s, a sun sail, and brackets like these with the support posts anchored in large planters with plants in them. It was very attractive and looked like a great project for the backyard. Saw these on my feed and they looked like just what I needed so ordered them up. These brackets are heavy duty, weighing in at about 8 pounds each. The construction, fit, and finish are all high quality with square angles, clean welds, well finished holes, and a very nice powder coated finish bot inside and out. The included hardware is also high quality and should last many years without corrosion. The last photos posted are the inspiration we saw at the Airbnb as an idea of how easily this could be put together, I’ll be buying another pair of these now to able to get this started in the next few weeks.

Overpriced
These brackets have the same sloppy welding and sharp edges as those that cost half as much. While the fit and quality are on par with similar brackets on the market, the big price difference is perplexing since I can’t see any added value that would justify the price premium.
