Everything you need but the soil and the plant(s)!
I’ll admit that I’m a bad item description reader. To that end, if I get something and it isn’t what I thought it was, I don’t return it because that’s on me–if I can’t use the item, I can always find someone who can. I’m pleased in this instance, however, to say that I am pleasantly surprised with what I received.I thought I was getting 4 planters and that’s indeed what arrived: 4 black plastic planters constructed of what feels like fairly durable material. That alone was perfect for my needs. Imagine my delight when I cut through the plastic tape holding them together and found that not only are there pieces to put in the bottom of each planter to aid in soil drainage but also chains and hooks for hanging! Now, maybe I’m easily pleased but the chains and hooks being included made my day. It’s the bit I always seem to forget when I go out shopping for planters. I’m sure this was mentioned in the listing blurb but, well, see my first paragraph.Anyway, these are the perfect size to deck out your…deck…or patio with smaller blooming plants or greenery like ivy. The weather where I live is not very friendly to living plants at the moment (I’m about 250 miles from the Canadian border) so I will have to wait to do outdoor stuff until Spring. However, I plan to start some plants from seed in about March so they will be ready by May. I know these will be perfect for that.

Self-Watering Pots
I love the diameter of these. However, the self-watering portion makes them more raised than I expected. So, they don’t have much depth. This did impact the plants I could put in the pots. I opted for plants with shallow roots (e.g. some of my succulents and cacti.)They are currently on a shelf inside due to cold weather, but I look forward to hanging them outside in the warmer months and love that they have individual chains that I can use.

Nice set of hanging planters
This is a pretty nice set of hanging planters. It comes with the chains separate and bottom risers that will need to be assembled. No instructions included, but it’s obvious where the parts go.There are no holes on the bottom for drainage–probably on purpose to avoid dripping water when used indoors. This means it’s probably expected that you use a separate liner pot, and have that sit on top of the riser. That way, excess water collects below the riser, but plant roots can still grow through the liner and reach the water if needed. This makes it a little tricky to figure out when I’m overwatering though. I’m currently swinging the planter a bit and seeing whether I feel or hear the water to know if it has enough.The chain isn’t very long, only about 12 inches long after hanging it, but it’s good enough for my uses. Lightweight, but relatively sturdy and I think it may work outdoors also. I expect it to last a good while.

Nice, modern looking, sturdy hanging baskets
These are sturdy planters, and come with an actual chain to hang them from. They have an integrated drip tray which helps prevent over watering. They look great as far as plastic hanging baskets go, giving that “modern” look. The chain attaches at three points so the basket remains stable while hanging. Overall a good product that you won’t mind spending your money on. I got them as gifts for my plant loving friends, and everyone is quite pleased with them.

Nice options
I’m still not 100% certain where I will be using these, but if I wind up using them inside, I’ll use the soil elevator and keep the pot as-is to allow plant-healthy drainage while preventing water from dripping to the floor. If outside, I’ll skip the soil elevator and drill holes in the bottom of the pot for drainage. Either way, the pots are an excellent size and weight (sturdy without being too heavy) and will hold any of the plants I currently have as candidates for hanging pots.These are plastic, of course, but the fluted sides help elevate the look. With four to a set, I’m very happy with the value and glad to have enough pots to consider multiple options for planting.
