Some headaches, but ultimately very beautiful
Govee 32.8 ft. Outdoor Neon Rope (no-adhesive)This is a fantastic rope running about four bucks a foot. It’s taken me on a journey, so here you go:The railing on my balcony is exactly 32.10 ft. long, so without cutting this rope it fit weirdly perfect and created a perfect set of neon lines using zipties only. The tightness required on the rope with the zipties (to keep them perfectly straight) was not enough to break the lights inside the rope and it ended up looking fantastic.Everything worked perfectly for days, when someone staining the deck moved the power supply and it just stopped working. I got a replacement and felt a huge relief. This light has become therapeutic. This one works great too, and with zipties it only took a few minutes to set up. But, it had a scare in for me; Once all set up and working I messed with the “relative brightness”. Changing it back created a weird effect where some of the segments wouldn’t fully light on one color, only the scenes would uniformly light the rope (picture 4). Unplugging and reinstalling the app didn’t fix it (it doesn’t reset when unplugged and stays at the setting it was left on for convenience). My wife said “you’re not going to return it for that?” I said yes, because it’s not perfect.Getting ready to return this rope again, I played with the relative brightness again to full and brought it back again to 50% (where it defaults), and all the sudden the one color was uniform brightness again. So for now it’s staying where it is and if anyone touches it, well…Neon rope is easy to botch, have a plan. You should spend much more time planning a light run as you do physically installing it.The power adapter says on the box “weatherproof” so I felt confident in placing it on the ground in a pot.Govee’s app is pretty awesome, I have several ropes and strips for various professional purposes and the timers and color options are pretty much unparalleled for this price point. The DIY is escaping me a bit, I can’t seem to get it exactly. I wish there were more slushy scenes (picture 1), rather than all the blinky stuff.PSA: the Govee COB light is very nice, seems like the next generation of this RGBIC. However the COB will not make right turns the way this RGBIC will (picture 3). COB only comes in white encasement and the longest rope is 16 feet.

Great function and customizable
Overall it is a solid product. Perhaps they are charging a bit of a premium for it as the technology is not groundbreaking(I brought l on sale). However outside of price the app and product has alot of appeal.You can choose from a variety of patterns/themes and create your own. You can Literally change each segment of the rope and get lost in the variety of options. It has a seemless integration with Alexa voice commands etc. Timers, schedules, and group control features.They provide clips for wall mounting and for ground routing. I did installed my (32ft) on the ceiling of the patio. The provide drywall anchors were not the best so I used a few better ones I had. Also the rope has some weight to it, the ceiling install required one person holding the weight while being installed. What I then had to do was use clear/white zip ties in a few places to secure the rope to is clips. It came out clean pretty clean and the 3 or 4 zips I used are not noticeable.The clips they include have a small lip that fits into a groove along the rope. It is perhaps 2mm in size which is the problem for the ceiling install. They are not deep enough to hold up without some ingenuity.For brightness I gave 4 stars with the caveat that it’s intended perhaps is not for how I am using it. Is it bright and eye catching Yeats. The colors are vivid. Will the all white light at full bright be seen from space no. My goal was to have the ability to light my patio if needed to provide a softer light then my main overhead lights. (It does this well). The best example I’d say is to think of a cell phone (flashlight) it gives you light. from say 10 feet away you can see but the shadows are there . I’ll posted a night picture laterAgain overall it is a solid product and I’ve added a few other govee products to the house this week that have worked just as well.

Really good addition to my backyard
These Govee outdoor rope lights are awesome! They put out a surprisingly bright glow and really light up my backyard nicely. Highest quality lights I have ever purchased. Screws were softer than baby poop so make sure you predrill. Couple more clips would have been nice too just to keep the lines a little straighter.

La manguera viene con muchos accesorios para instalarla. Es relativamente fácil instalarla, aunque queda medio rara en las esquinas, porque aunque es muy flexible no se puede poner a 90 grados, entonces queda en forma de bucle. En cuanto a conectividad solo tuve un problema de que no respetaba el encendido y apagado automático, pero se resolvió configurándola desde 0, y no volvió a fallar. La app está muy completa, aunque varias escenas están medio raras, de navidad no hubo una que me convenciera. Llovió varias veces y no tuvo ningún problema, aunque hay que considerar que el eliminador no se debe de mojar, por lo que tuve que conseguir una caja para protegerla y que permitiera entrada de aire porque se calienta.

First, I love Govee products. They are desiged really well. The app gives endless options for light shows including customizations. You can even use AI to tailor to a photo you upload of your favorite team, your family crest or whatever you have. This rope light gives off a lot of light too. Love the added bonus of all Govee products that you can set a timer for on and off in the app.
