#1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts continues the hauntingly spectacular Lost Bride Trilogy with book two, The Mirror.
When Sonya MacTavish inherits the huge Victorian mansion on the coast of Maine, she has no idea that the house is haunted. The footsteps she hears at night, the doors slamming, the music playing, are not figments of her imagination. In her dreams she sees glimpses of the past. In the present she finds portraits of brides. And when she has visions of an antique mirror, she is drawn to it, sensing it holds dark family secrets.
Then one night the mirror appears and Sonya glides through this looking glass, into the past—and sees a bride murdered on her wedding day, the circle of gold torn from her finger. It is a scene that will play out again and again—a centuries-old curse that must be broken—and a puzzle she must solve if there is any hope of breaking the curse.

    AH-MAZING!!
One of the best series! I can’t wait for book 3 this month!!The book grabs you right away. The story is romantic, funny, sad, scary. It’s told so well. The last sentence had me swearing because I had to wait a year for book 2. It was equally amazing! I highly recommend this series. It’s one of my most borrowed.

    The Story Keep Getting Better
**Audiobook**The story of Lost Bride Manor continues with even more ghosts, secrets, and revelations. The Mirror picks up right where The Inheritance left off with Sonya, Cleo, Trey, and Owen, along with their faithful four legged companions, working to solve the mysteries of Lost Bride Manor.Brittany Pressley is back as the narrator for the second book and continues to voice a thrilling story that keeps getting better. Her ability to voice each character and bring out their personalities is top tier and extremely enjoyable. The story is gripping, but Pressley’s narration has made it hard to pause this one.If you’re looking for a story with ghosts, curses, and family secrets; The Lost Brides Trilogy should be your next listen.

    Spookily Immersive
Book two of The Lost Bride Trilogy brings more answers and stronger connections to her family ghosts but also more mystery and danger for Sonya MacTavish as she works to build her life in the heavily haunted Poole Manor. 3.75 🌟sThe Mirror picks up right where book one left off and immediately immerses us back into the story. As true to most second books in true-to-form trilogies, not much is resolved in this book. It expands and builds in areas, but continues on with much of the same as book one. Many of Roberts’ trilogies tend to have a definite beginning, middle, and end in that each one could be its own story and some aspect of the plot – a minor point, establishment of a romance, something- is resolved, it just might be more open-ended then the reader would like. This trilogy is different from that style. I did still thoroughly enjoy reading The Mirror as I love Roberts’ writing style- she does a fabulous job of making the story not only about moving the plot and character growth but also just about life as a whole. I love being immersed in not only the characters’ interaction with the plot but also the details of how they are living their lives while everything else is occurring. I do wish this particular novel had some more ‘big’ moments but I still look forward to reading book three and seeing how it is all wrapped up!

    Enchanted
This is by far one of the most exciting, joyful, fulfilling series I’ve ever read by Nora Roberts. I am on pins and needles waiting for book 3 and can only hope the story goes on and on. I couldn’t put it down. It was so fun! Great work!

    Cliff Hanger
Love the series. Character development was wonderful. I don’t know if I would have started the trilogy now if I had known the last volume was not even published yet. This trilogy has a cliff hanger ending at the end of both books one and two. I like to be able to go from one to the next with the prior characters fresh in my memory. I really enjoyed each book but will check the publication dates next time before I start a trilogy series.

    Here we Go Again
Compared to the first book, this one was a letdown. The main characters were stuck in a continuous loop of the same event over and over: a ghostly encounter followed by Sonya sharing all the same details of the encounter to the other 3, sometimes separately and again over dinner with the boys. Honestly it reads like she was just trying to fill pages to get enough to be able to call it a trilogy. I am hoping book 3 is less predictable.

Fantastic book! I find it fascinating how quickly you get sucked into her stories. I have read all of her books, every single one, and she does it over and over again. Mrs. Roberts’s books are automatic buys for me. No questions asked. Especially when I know it’s a new trilogy. Knowing that I have to wait a year for the last one to come out is torture but also something to look forward to. I genuinely like this story; it’s suspenseful, intriguing, cute, and romantic with great characters, good banter, excellent family dynamics, and all with a bit of spooky on the side.

Vale a leitura!

Part two of a trilogy. Read the first and was hooked. This second instalment doesn’t disappoint. Well written story of an inheritance of the family mansion that was built a couple of centuries ago. It is based in the now with the family dynamics and romances but also takes you back to the past families and the sadness of a curse put on the family in the past. So good I read it quickly and now have the long wait for the final instalment due out in November 2025.
