These work amazing. I would recommend taking a chisel and knocking the “edge” off the corner of each 4×4 about 3-4″. This let’s them slide in effortlessly. I did have 1 4×4 that was still really wet that was a pain getting in, it did split one of the welds. The other side of that one we hit with a grinder and shaved down 2 sides a little… slid right in. Used a rubber mallet to seat them.Would absolutely 100% use these again. From nothing to the picbattached in about 2.5 hours.Imo the bad reviews are people that would struggle with anything.Will build more of these and use these brackets.

Tolerances too tight
These are ALMOST really good. Problem is, when they say the openings are 3.5″, they really mean it. Which is just about what you want, but you still need to be able to get a 4×4 (nominal, 3.5″ x 3.5″ actual) into each opening, which is quite challenging, especially when you’re trying to do it with a 12′ beam overhead. Moreover, some of the internal weld beads make that 3.5″ even tighter at some of the interior seams. I had to use a sledge to drive 4x4s into the side openings, and then figure out how to shave enough material off the ends of my beam to fit into the “bottom” of the T. I made it work, but compared to other brands’ brackets I’ve used designed for 4x4s, these are quite a lot tighter than you want. An extra 1/16th would be great.

Pour une pergola qui a déjà un bon soutient , oui. Pour une job qui a besoins de plus de renfort, je ne sais pas si je prendrais celle-ci. Sinon, très facile à installer, première été donc pas d’idée encore si ça va rouiller à la long.
