OUTSTANDING
I don’t think I’ve written a review before, but I am now. (First, sorry for the pic – my phone is charging so I don’t a camera.)I am a connoisseur of table and floor lighting – so much so that I have a storage unit where many are housed – I just don’t have the space. That said — this is an OUTSTANDING lamp. Design is gorgeous, quality you can feel in the materials and craftsmanship. It is heavy and strong.Slight edit – the listing was $107 when I put it in my basket, but I waited a day or two and they priced it down to a ‘special’ at $78. So, maybe that’s an amazon tactic to get you to buy. :-)Easy to put together – took ten minutes without instructions. I have the color-changing bulbs, so I have the flexibility to get the lighting just right. Unsure how it fares for standard bulbs.The outside of the shade and the base are definitely black – unlike a review I saw that said they were gray.Do note – the inside of the shade is more matte-silver. I think I thought they were gold based on the lamp turned on – maybe is was the bulb/light color. Just know it’s not gold/brassy. HOWEVER, the stem IS brassy – so it is just a beautiful lamp.The pulls for the bulbs hang down slightly far – a little odd – but nothing bothering. And they’re heavy and strong – doesn’t feel like a solid-tug would make them break free.Keep in mind that the shade is closed at the top. You can see in some of the pictures. If you’re looking for something to light up a whole room – both up and down, this isn’t your lamp. But, note, while the light is directed down…. is isn’t just STRAIGHT DOWN. It casts wide – a product of the bulbs being closer to the bottom of the shade.Obviously, enclosed at the top means you don’t see the bulbs when you’re walking by – I’m 6’1 and that often happens and is annoying. As for seeing the bulbs when sitting near the lamp, as long as the lamp is 14-18 inches away, you don’t see the bulbs from underneath.Finally, for the price, this lamp is an outrageous value. Like I said, I’m a lamp-lover, and have lamps 5x-10x as much as this. I’m ordering another one for my office at work.PS: Not to bag on the marketing department, but this lamp is not merchandised very well. They could show it off so much better in the photography. and lumping it in with these other lamps with shades does a disservice to how unique and awesome this lamp is.PPS: I am not being paid for this. lol

Beautiful, substantial lamp with one small flaw
Stunning lamp — the design looks high-end and it was very easy to assemble. It’s heavy and sturdy, which I love. I took off one star because the faux wood grain doesn’t align perfectly, but overall it’s a beautiful piece that adds warmth and style to the room.

Upscale and unique!
Beautiful and stylish floor lamp. It’s very heavy and feels sturdy. It was easy to put together, delivered overnight, and it looks upscale! I do wish the shade was slightly smaller, but other than that it is amazing! I love it!

Very pleased with my purchase of this lamp!
I’ve been eyeing these lamps for quite some time, but have been apprehensive due to the conflicting reviews. I finally decided to give them a shot and I’m glad that I did! I ordered 2 for our beach home and they arrived very well packaged with LOTS of styrofoam packing. I was very pleased to see that neither had any scratches or scrapes and were in excellent condition. They were simple to assemble. Yes, you can see the line where the pieces screw together, but that honestly doesn’t bother me much. The faux wood grain finish is very light in color (actually a little lighter than I expected), but it’s neutral and pretty. I was very surprised at how large the shades are. I guess I didn’t pay attention to their dimensions and at first glance, I wasn’t sure they’d work for me, but once I saw the lamp completely assembled, I quickly changed my mind. For reference, I have a 60 watt soft white bulb in each one. It’s a warmer look in person than in the photos. If you’re on the fence about ordering these, I’d say give it a shot and form your own opinion. I’m glad that I did!UPDATE: After living with these for a couple of days, I still love the lamps themselves, but I am definitely on the hunt for new shades. In my personal opinion these shades are too oversized for the lamp base and they are also very thin, and see-through when illuminated. I’m not thrilled about having to spend the extra money on new lampshades, but in my opinion, they are very much needed

Great looking lamp!
Very beautiful lamp. Good and sturdy base. Gib lamp shade. Well packaged. On piece has a scratched look similar to another reviewer (not really a scratch), but I turned it towards the wall and it doesn’t show at all or bother me. The lamp shade is a very stark white, which may or may not be suitable for everyone.

Disappointing purchase
One of the worst items I’ve purchased through Amazon. The outside of the box has a label advising people to “Consult a qualified electrician to ensure correct branch circuit conductor”. What the heck!!!!! The lamp was time consuming to put together due to the fact the electrical cord connecting the three parts of the lamp is far too long. You have to stuff it into the pole sections in order to screw them together. The length of cord that plugs into the electrical socket is a little short. Apparently that is why you need an electrician, to take the lamp apart and wire it correctly. I managed to get the lamp put together but now I’m afraid to leave it on for too long. It’s too much of a hassle to return the lamp, I’d never get the parts back into the box. I like the looks of the lamp and will use it when I’m at home, awake and in the same room. Disappointing to say the least.

The wood grain pattern on the lamp was uneven so I returned it. Solid lamp with easy returns though.

The lamp is gorgeous, well-made and easy to assemble. The only downside was I was a little disappointed because the shade was damaged (see second photo) and it’s unique sizing makes it difficult and costly to replace. Amazon Customer Service was helpful in trying to find a replacement, but with no luck, they instead refunded me a percentage of the original purchase price which was a nice alternative.

Firstly this thing is huge and made of metal! Dimensions are wrong. Shade is 18W x 13H – beware if you have a tight corner. It’s heavy and will not fall. Packed entirely in styrofoam which is now all over my apartment -not sure how anyone recieved a damaged one. Faux wood looks great. Mine didn’t screw together straight, so has a lean. The “joins” where is screws together could fit better and my eye is drawn to this part of the pole when lamp is on. Would be better is the shade was not polar White, but beige. Switch is only on/off. Am considering returning or buying a new shade.
