Wool carpet protector mat
Very durable and high quality. Using this on wool berber to protect the carpet around a hospital bed and tray table. It shifts a little under a walker or wheelchair, but can be lifted and reset in position when necessary.. Trimmable with a good scissors around furniture legs, if necessary. Easy to wipe off. I’m using a 4×6 and 2×6 overlapped at the long side to cover the area. This was the only protector I could find suitable to use on wool carpeting. Hoping it works to preserve my beautiful carpet and so far is doing the trick. I’ve had it in place about a month.

Nice medium weight plastic.
Had to get pins to hold down. This was the size I needed for the space, it was easy to cut to size, used the spare peice to cover the strip between the mat and the door. Protects my new carpet well so I can bring groceries and things in to set down before taking off my shoes. My door slides over it easily now that it’s pinned down and not bunching anymore.

Saved My Carpet
Works great at protecting my carpet from spills and I can clean them using a damp cloth or mop. They were pretty easy to install and the grips help them stay in place. The only thing I didn’t like was it took a such a long time (months) for the smell to dissipate.

I recarpeted stairs in my home. I priced carpet protectors for stairs and it was pretty pricey for what I wanted (3 steps at $37). I found this runner and it was perfect for my use. I cut the runner in lengths of 9″ and the width was already perfect; to fit 14 individual steps with enough to overhang over the front of each. The small grips on the bottom side weren’t enough to grab the carpet sufficiently to hold in place. I put a strip of double-sided clear rug tape on each. Some steps I put two strips (used 3 rolls of this tape 180″ per roll). The cut runner (protectors I call them) holds beautifully and looks clean and nice. Saved a lot of money.

Perfect way to stop cats from clawing at carpeted doorways
I bought this for the express purpose of cutting it up for use in carpeted doorways. I recently moved in with my boyfriend and between us we are now a 4-cat household. I already had issues with my own cats absolutely shredding the carpet around my bedroom door at my old place. They hated being locked out of there and really wanted to make sure I got the memo every morning when they decided it was breakfast time. His cats were equally as insistent about things, so we knew we had to do something to protect the new place. Having at least 3 doorways to protect, I needed a roll I could cut easily. The preset lines between the teeth were perfect for this purpose. We cut the desired width, placed it in the doorway, then used a sturdy boxknife to mark the contours of the doorframe and a pair of scissors for the heavier cutting duties. I’m happy to report that we’ve had these in place for a few weeks now and it’s working perfectly! No slipping, pulling, or other movement from either the cats’ shenanigans or the humans’ regular traffic patterns. Once the cats figured out they couldn’t get to it anymore,they have given up entirely even trying. Problem solved, great product. Highly recommend.

Not good for wheelchair
Difficult to decide how many stars since I needed more than just a carpet protector. I wanted a carpet protector I could roll a wheelchair over. I previously purchased a chair mat 63×51 inch carpet protector delivered in a roll and worked out very well and I mistakenly thought this was same thickness and it wasn’t – my fault. It doesn’t work with a wheelchair. It bunches up and pulls away from carpet. Guess it would work ok for a runner for normal use when brokered in (flattened thoroughly on floor) but I would want something thicker (reason for 3 stars). Like I noted earlier my needs were unique (wheelchair) but I thought I should inform others with similar needs as mine

Poor Quality carpet runner for a deep pile carpet.
This was not a deep pile carpet runner, which is what I needed. The “spikes” on the underside were too short to cause the carpet runner to stay in place. Also, the vinyl was so thin and lightweight, that it did not stay in place when you walked on it. In addition, it created an unsmooth walking surface that my wife tripped on and fell. I thought it would work based on the product description, but I would not recommend this product.

It slides around, it doesn’t stay put. It will bunch up and turn the spikes on the underside up and if you step on it it is like some horrible torture from the Middle ages.
