I wanted to make my own concrete sided beds to replace wooden beds that rotted after about 6 seasons, but was too busy and never got around to it. These are faster to make (than concrete), resonably priced, look great, and should last significantly longer than wood if my grandkids don’t try to sit on the sides; they aren’t that rigid. I like that they come with wing nuts instead of bolts, so no wrench is needed — just the screwdriver. The grey is a dark rich color that is expensive looking. I say “weak five” because these are galvanized steel (not a fancier alloy that is less likely to rust) and a little thinner and less rigid compared to the high end metal beds that my daughter has, which are too expensive for gardening in my opinion! The lower rigidity might be an issue if you are digging aggressively and frequently in your beds, but I’m using these for blueberries and gooseberries — perennial shrubs which I’m not going to move. We have mice and moles, so I wired 1/2″ hardward cloth to the bottom to keep them out– which could cause “dissimilar metal” corrosion I suppose, but I was happy with how it came out, and I’ll take the risk. I built a 6 x 2 x 1, which was not on the list of options for this kit to my surprise. The biggest surprise to me is that these beds held water when I filled them to saturate the soil; I expected water to pour out of all the seams. The top strip was easy to put on. The company said that customers can go to their website to order individual pieces of metal if needed; I haven’t tried this but I may need to on my final bed, which will need to be an unauthorized shape and will involve some cutting that may ruin a piece. This of course voids any warranty but I need a triangular shape. The one high-end company that I considered said that I could not order individual pieces under any circumstance, so I was surprised that Permade supposedly will allow me to order single panels. Overall, very happy.

Easy setup, looks great, holds shape
I love this garden bed! I ordered one last season and liked it so much that I purchased two more this year. The setup was easy – LOTS of screws! – and they’ve all been holding their shape well. I bought the 1.4′ deep version and they’re perfect. The off-white color looks great as well, and I appreciate the rubber piece that goes around the top to hide any rough edges.

Durable and easy to assemble
It was easy to assemble from start to finish maybe 20 minutes total. After assembling we placed it in our backyard. The dull green looks great against the grass and trees. The size is just right for vegetables. The aluminum frame is durable and strong to the dirt within its shape. The cost was very good when compared to others selling the same item. Great functional keeping the area separate from other areas.

Great product – Poor Support
Included instructions state to contact seller on Amazon to get replacement parts, but the option to contact seller is not available on Amazon. So, if you are missing any parts like we were, your only option is to return the product if you are not satisfied.That said, the packaging of this product was outstanding. I purchased 5 of the 8x2x1 raised planter beds. I was impressed by the cellophane coated panels to protect the paint during packaging, transition, and handling. The box was surprisingly small and easy to handle during unpackaging, but it is dense and heavy to carry. Parts were intelligently packaged. The panels went together fairly well but occasionally we had to turn a panel 180 degrees for the correct fit–to be expected and noted in the instructions.We were missing several support braces in a couple of packages. Because of the seller support, we ended up spending another $40 to purchase threaded rods and post bolts to mitigate the missing braces.

This bed is well made, sturdy, and aesthetically pleasing. After I received the first one I went back and bought a second and plan on getting a third in the spring.

The Quality is very comparable, to the Vego brand garden box.!
I would most definitely buy this brand product again! It is very well made and the paint doesn’t scratch as easily as a lot of other off brands. It was packaged well, instructions were wonderful, parts were thoughtfully packaged, and the garden box was easy to put together. I put a lot of pictures, including one next to my actual Vego brand garden boxes, so you can see the color difference. I bought the herb green and it is different than my Vego box but I’m not putting them next to each other, so it doesn’t matter for me. Some people stated that the curved section is slightly different color than the middle section and that is true and hopefully you can see that as well in my picture. That does not bother me at all it’s a very slight difference and with the paint it changes a little bit in the Sun and shade anyways. It’s a very nice box, I am very impressed!
